This is a section from the show 60 Minutes that my mom actually showed me that is about Malcolm Gladwell's newest book and I STRONGLY urge you to watch it cause it's really neat. There is also another 2 minute interview about Outliers as well.

Absolutely fascinating - Gladwell's anecdotes, like that about the dyslexic entrepreneurs, always interest me based on how unusual they appear. You wouldn't expect such success from men with those problems, but there seems to be a drive that propels them to success because of those handicaps.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I find it funny how Gladwell himself is an example of that fortunate opportunity that leads to success as described in Outliers. He was born to a therapist and a mathematician, and he got to go to the University of Toronto, which is a REALLY good school. These circumstances gave him the unique perspectives and skill in writing that made him rich many times over.
